Booking Conditions
Check-in / Check-out times:
Check-in: 3pm, Check-out: 9am (cabin), 12pm (boat)
Since 01.07.2001 it is required by Egyptian law that all safaris must be led by a dive guide familiar with a local dive site and regulations (all guides that work in the Red Sea must have a CDWS identity card, without this the boat will not be allowed to leave the harbour).
Marine Park:
It is required from the CDWS that every trip to the Marine Parks must be led by 2 dive guides with a CDWS identity card (1 dive guide for max. 8 divers). To the Marine Parks belong the Brother Islands, Daedalus Reef, Rocky Island and Zabargad. Trips to St. John’s Reef will be charged with the Marine Park supplement.
Nitrox:
On the MY Blue Planet 1 a partial pressure filling system is available, on the MY Blue Pearl, MY Blue, MY Blue Storm and MY Blue Seas a NRC-Membrane System.
On all our boats it is possible to make a Nitrox course (135 Euro) and to dive with Nitrox. On the MY Blue Planet 1 Nitrox costs 65 Euro/person/week. On the MY Blue, MY Blue Pearl and MY Blue Seas Nitrox is for free for certified divers. The booking of Nitrox or Nitrox course has to be added on the participant list.
Currency on Board:
Dollar, Egyptian Pound, Euro, English Pound; on the MY Blue, MY Blue Strom, MY Blue Pearl and MY Blue Seas payment by credit card (MasterCard, Visa only) is possible.
Necessary equipment and experience of the guests:
All participants of a diving cruise need an experience-minimum of 50 dives. The last dive should not be longer ago than 1 year. The dive guide has the right to prevent guests from diving which don’t have enough experience to dive at some certain dive sites (drift, deep etc.). Caused by this reason it is possible to have some restrictions in the routing and at the dive sites.
It is necessary that every guest will bring the following equipment and documents:
- Dive brevet
- Logbook
- Medical certification of health (not older than 1 year)
- Dive computer
- surface marker boje
- Weight bell (in split of integrated weight-pockets in the jacket)
Spare parts and rent-equipment:
On the safari boats there is no rent-equipment or spare parts. Therefore every guest should bring along the most important spare parts for his own equipment.
It is possible to rent equipment, torches and dive-computers by previous order. These objects are not insured and the client is liable for it in its entirety if it gets lost or damaged.
Passport-Data + Flight times:
The passport-data for all participants of a safari have to be in hand of the Office Blue Planet Liveaboards in Hurghada latest 8 days before the safari starts.
The following informations are required by all means:
Family name, forename, nationality, passport number, flight number, arrival time and departure time. In case of ignorance it is not the responsibility of Blue Planet Liveaboards, if the start will be delayed.
Excerpt from the lawful regulations of environmental protection:
- Hunting, fishing, collecting or breaking off corals or shells is prohibited.
- It is also prohibited to dispose any materials into the sea, like: garbage, oil, grease etc.
- It is not allowed to anchor inside protected areas.
- No fish feeding and birds feeding
- No using of hand gloves for divers.
- No standing on corals
Violations are subject to the fines included within Law 102 of 1983 and Law 4 of 1994. The fines are as follows:
… for the first case, L.E. 10.000,- or jail for a period of one year… for the second case, L.E. 20.000,- or jail… further the captain and the dive guide will be imposed on a limited professional ban and the permissions for the ship will be detained for an appointed period.
By Egyptian law it is not allowed to dive deeper than 40 meters.
Terms of payment:
With a firm booking 20 % deposit becomes due immediately. The booking is confirmed not before arrival of the deposit on our account. The rest becomes due 4 weeks before safari start (arrival of payment on our account).
Cancellation-fee:
In case of cancellation of a firm diving cruise, the following cancellation fees become due:
- until 90 days before safari start 15 % of the complete price
- 89. till 35. day before safari start 25 % of the complete price
- 34. till 22. day before safari start 50 % of the complete price
- 21. days till 15. day before safari start 70 % of the complete price
- 14. day before safari start 90 % of the complete price
- 7. day before safari starts or non-appearance 100% of the complete price
We reserve the right to invoice the local fees for cancellation from 10th day before safari start.
We reserve the right to change the ship and move the guests onto another boat in case of circumstances which could make it necessary. It could be also possible that the guests will stay the first or the last night in a hotel. We reserve us the right to change terms and conditions resulting on any regulations or new rules coming from the government.
